SAFE at Home Volunteering

Help Your Fellow Dane County community members stay SAFE. SSM Health at Home has opportunities for volunteers to assist the SAFE at Home program.

Home Safety Assessments Volunteers
Volunteers will be provided training from SSM Health at Home professionals. Upon completion of their training volunteers will be asked to:

  • Drive to recipients’ homes
  • Follow a standard form related to safety in various rooms of the home
  • Provide general recommendations for overall safety in the home

Handy Helpers
Volunteers are needed to assist with the installation of home safety equipment. These simple projects include installing items such as:

  • Toilet safety frames
  • Bed rails
  • Handheld shower heads

All recipients will be residents of Dane County and volunteers can specify which geographic areas they would be interested in serving.

Please contact Home Health United at 608-223-7970 if you are interested in volunteering or to receive more information.
