CPAP users

There are many benefits with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. This therapy will relieve airway obstruction and allow for more uninterrupted sleep. It will also lead to fewer morning headaches, improved memory and concentration, increased energy level and attentiveness during the day.

We want to help you find success with your treatment for sleep apnea. To be successful, you will need to use your CPAP every night while you sleep. We recognize that it could take time to get used to this, but with skilled mask fitting, proper maintenance and the support of your respiratory specialist, you can enjoy the full benefits of your treatment.

If your physician has referred you for CPAP therapy, contact Home Health United to schedule an appointment with one of our respiratory therapists. Your therapist is a support person and liaison between you and your physician. He or she will instruct you on how to use and maintain your CPAP and supplies. During the first month, the therapist will call you weekly to discuss issues and answer your questions. Respiratory visits and consultations are provided at no charge.

If you are experiencing difficulties with your CPAP equipment, call Home Health United (800) 660-3420 to schedule an appointment with one of our respiratory therapists. They will evaluate to determine if your equipment is properly fitted and functioning as it should.

Sometimes changes in weather, humidity or barometric pressure will affect your CPAP therapy. Seasonal allergies may also affect your ability to tolerate your CPAP. Another key to success is proper cleaning, maintenance and replacement of certain parts.
