What do you enjoy most about working at HHU?
Home Health United has been a part of my life for almost 24 years. I would have never thought that on November 29, 1993 would be the start of a fantastic job opportunity, in which I was hired as a Home Health Aide. It was a great start to a long rewarding career. From making patient visits or talking to them on the phone, you always make a difference in their lives and are able to help them in some way or another. I have been a part of many changes, different job titles, and have been so fortunate to work with so many wonderful people. It’s a constant learning process with so many changes and updates, you need to be on your toes and ready. I love being a part of a great team and able to share my knowledge and ideas. Patient care as well as staff care is an important part of my job – a part that I really do love the most. Last but not least – my office is a gathering place to stop by and say “Hi” and get a piece of chocolate or candy to help get you through your day!!
What does Employee of the Month mean to you?
It is very special to me and a great honor to be given the recognition of Employee of the Month. To have the support of my co-workers and managers makes my job so rewarding.
When you’re not working what do you enjoy doing?
My husband (of 44 years) and I love to travel and spend time with family and friends. From growing and harvesting a vegetable garden to planting flowers and working on projects around the house, there is always something to do to keep busy. We have 3 grown sons and their families, so with 5 grandchildren we are always going to games and events that they are participating in. So there is never a dull moment; just the way I like it!
