Flu Immunization Program

Home Health United nurses provide flu shot clinics for businesses, community based residential facilities, churches, senior centers and in a variety of public places. In 2005, we gave more than 50,000 shots. We also protect people with pneumonia immunizations.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that persons in "high risk" groups receive a flu shot during the month of October. If the supply of vaccine is adequate, other people may also be immunized during that month. Who should get a flu shot early? http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/vaccinescreening.htm

Annual immunization is necessary since new strains of the flu virus appear each year.

The cost of the flu shot is $28 or Medicare B and Medicaid accepted. Bring your Medicare or Medicaid card and present it to the clinic volunteer. VISA and MasterCard also accepted.

Symptoms of the
flu include:

fever
aches
cough
and fatigue

Public clinics will begin in October. Check here for the complete schedule in September.
