Meal On Wheels Receives Madison Rotary Foundation Grant

Home Health United – Meals On Wheels is proud to announce they’ve been chosen as a grant recipient of the Madison Rotary Foundation. The money will be used to provide Blizzard Meals to all meal recipients for the winter of 2013-2014.

Blizzard meals are provided to recipients to ensure they are not left without their noontime meal in the case of severe weather that prevents volunteers from delivering the daily meal.

Meals On Wheels provides hot nutritious meals every day of the year to individuals in need in Madison, Middleton, Monona and Sun Prairie, and can accommodate special dietary needs.

All meals, including Blizzard Meals, are prepared by Market Street Diner and Bakery in Sun Prairie, and delivered 365 days a year by trained volunteers, who also deliver newspapers and conduct safety checks. Carl’s Cakes also provides a cake for each recipient’s birthday.

Volunteers are continually needed for the Meals On Wheels program. Routes take approximately one hour to complete, and can be done any day of the week, as frequently as you’d like. Training is provided, and the whole family can participate. For more information call visit the Meals On Wheels Volunteer page, call 608-276-7598 or email mow@hhuvns.org
