HHU - Meals On Wheels Earns Accreditation

Home Health United's Meals On Wheels (MOW) program has been recently accredited by the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA). HHU is only the third MOW program in the state of Wisconsin to receive this accreditation.

MOWAA states that this accreditation demonstrates HHU is "dedicated to providing quality nutrition services at the highest levels of organizational accountability. It demonstrates to families and caregivers, donors and funders that the program operates according to the highest standards for program safety, program quality and program efficiency."

"We are ecstatic that our Meals On Wheels program is rated one of the top programs in the state," said Rick Bourne, President and CEO of HHU. "We knew we had a top quality program based on surveys and feedback from our recipients and volunteers. Now this 'seal of approval' confirms it."

HHU provides noontime meals to homebound and disabled individuals in Madison, Middleton and Monona 365 days a year. All meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers and made fresh daily by Market Street Diner and Bakery in Sun Prairie. As an added bonus, Carl's Cakes provides a free cake to all recipients on their birthday. In 2011 alone, HHU delivered 76,180 meals!
